English translation

Savlanut. Bear it. I bear it…
I have no strength to grow used to my fate.
Oh, how the heart reaches for warmth
In the frenzied white nights.
And the torn thread of insomnia
Ties tight knots as reminders.
There is no stove! How to light a fire,
How to straighten a bent back…
Savlanut. Bear it. I will bear it.
They strike the left one? Here is the right, strike.
Zip! That is a diamond cutting across glass,
The lashes go back and forth across my back.
Like a brand, I wear a handprint
On my cheek — the echo of ringing slaps
Savlanut! I will bear it, I will bear it
The time will come — I will settle the account.
No, not an eye for an eye, not a tooth
For mine, knocked out by a burly de Sade,
I am gathering a thunderstorm inside myself
With thunder, lightning, a hail cloud.
Savlanut! There is a limit to patience.
It will burst! Away with all taboos and all vetoes.
I will rise and walk along the ridge,
And I will fall, like the Warsaw Ghetto.
Savlanut! The impatience of the soul,
The intolerance of tolerance toward misfortunes…
I will catch my breath from earthly pride,
I will bear it through to victory!
